Roger Clement's Legacy at Foothill Fence: A Journey of Community, Mentorship, and Success
Roger Clement founded Foothill Fence in 2000. If you had the pleasure of meeting and working with Roger you know he was a one of a kind character who was all about community and building connections. He could make anybody smile with either his non stop jokes or his craftsmanship! Due to Rogers amazing ability to grow meaningful relationships he quickly became the go to guy for fencing in the El Dorado County area. Roger was also a mentor in the community! He mentored many young and old men alike and taught them the fencing trade. Gerrit Certa happened to be Rogers neighbor and is now the current owner and operator of Sierra Foothill Fence. After Roger Clement moved next door to Gerrit in 1999 the Clement and Certa family grew very close. Over the next 23 years Roger would mentor Gerrit in sports, fencing, video games and just about anything. Naturally Roger saw Gerrit’s potential, drive, hard work and dedication to fencing and they would work together professionally until Foothill Fence was passed down to Gerrit in 2022. Therefore, Sierra Foothill Fence is a small family run company and truly a labor of love!
